V6 4X4

 Model of the car:V6 4X4
General comments:Our relationship started out with some typical problems (intake manifold gaskets causing fuel smell in cabin) and some unusual problems (cracked coolant reservoir causing coolant warning light to stay on; rear differential fluid leak through breather tube). All were promptly repaired by the Dealer with no hassles. Eventually (at 12K miles; with meticulous maintenance), the motor started knocking -- cause was never determined -- and was replaced by Mazda at no charge and with no hassles. No problems with new motor. We love the looks, power, interior room and handling. The thing is a blast to drive on back roads, unlike other SUVs we've owned. Haven't had any problems with it since the early months. Currently have about 25,000 miles on it. Will probably buy something different next time around, due to ergonomics.
What things have gone wrong with the car:Driver's seat not designed for 6'2" driver with long legs (seat base is too short), overall cockpit ergonomics need to be reworked for us 6-footers (I've driven smaller vehicles that were more comfortable, e.g., VW Passat), seats are hard, cockpit is noisy (thanks to wide mirror mount design and windshield that's not flush with body), rattly rear window, tinny overall. A little concerned about future reliability. Not comfortable for extended highway periods (noise is tiring, seats are hard, steering wheel
